SuperFood Store Cupboard Bowl

Breakfast is probably the meal I think about the most - maybe it's because I like a warm bowl of something, especially in the winter and it can get a little boring having the same thing over and over again - so trying to jazz it up is always something fun. Sometimes I don't always have all the ingredients that I want and this is something I will throw together when I don't. Its everything I always have in my cupboard, literally takes 5 minutes to make, its filling and tastes good. Its one tablespoon of each of the ingredients, a couple of dates and half a cup of boiled water - straight from the kettle. It's full of protein, slow releasing carbohydrates, healthy fats - including omega 3 from the chia and flaxseeds. Nothing is refined and no added nasties. Remember - if you have  a healthy breakfast its suppose to set the tone for the rest of the day!!

Ingredients

  • 2 medjool dates chopped up

  • 1 tablespoon milled flaxseed

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

  • 1 tablespoon rolled oats

  • 1 tablespoon almond butter

  • 1/2 cup of boiled water

You just throw all the ingredients into a bowl and cover it for 5 minutes. Then its ready! Easy! You can sprinkle some chopped pecans or any other nuts on top ...
